Judo

Judo, or "gentle way," is a Japanese martial art and an important part of BJJ or MMA training. Our instructors will teach you techniques that will shift an aggressor's posture, making it possible for a weaker or lighter person to physically overcome a stronger opponent. Judo involves the mastering of falling, throwing, and mat work techniques.

Cross training Judo and BJJ will help you become a more well rounded competitor. Judo is excellent training for improving your BJJ, self defense or fitness.

Benefits of cross training Judo and BJJ:

• Throws and take downs. Grappling/BJJ matches begin on your feet, training Judo will help you build a strong background on throws and takedowns, gaining an advantage from the very beginning.

• Balance and foot placement. Good balance and foot placement will help you recover from many situations in grappling matches such as throws and sweeps, which will greatly improve your groundwork

• Core Strength. Practicing throws and takedowns is a great workout for your core muscles, which is also a very important part of the ground game.
